Weekly Poll: How important is money in making your career decisions?

A survey taken in Australia found that 45% of the Gen Y members polled said they were unhappy with their jobs but that 79% would stay if they were offered more money.This week’s question is: How important is money in making your career decisions?

My guess it that many of them were unhappy with their jobs because of the pay. Getting a pay increase made the job more exciting, prestigious and lucrative — so staying would be a no-brainer.

At this point, I have to be able to maintain my lifestyle so, in that sense, money is important. I would consider a small decrease in pay for the right opportunity though… knowing that more money is for certain in my future.
