They say “It’s all about who you know!” Yes, this is true. But have you ever thought about who YOU really need to know?

One of the most unfortunate – and most common- situations that young entrepreneurs face is a family that’s not supportive. Know your options! Entrepreneurs in any economy need to always have a plan A, B, C and D…and more to not only survive but continue to build their business in both booming and trying times like these. And your business is not the only thing that needs options (ie: other prospective product lines, services, investors, partners), you as an entrepreneur do too! Don’t forget there are numerous routes you can take to pursue your entrepreneurial passions if one doesn’t work out – from consulting to freelancing, franchising, partnerships, virtual operations to raw startups.

Armando Escobedo is one of our favorite Young & Successful people who embodies this perspective both professionally and personally. At just 20 years old he is the CEO of EMC Corporation, a very active member of Circle K and Kiwanis Club for many years, a college student and an inspiration to all who meet him. His road to success has been fraught with obstacles but his determination has carried him through countless challenges that would have stopped most in their tracks. Best of all, his future is now brighter than ever, and clearly, we’ve only yet to see what Armando Escobedo can achieve.

Analyzing oneself allows you to dig beneath the superficial shell of your internal and external worlds, and discover the vital essentials of your own person. Although this acquisition is not a physical one, it is one that gives you a tremendous advantage. The more you analyze yourself, the more synthesis of ideas will become second nature.
