I'm happy to say that my work environment is like my second family with everyone feeling like a sister or brother. However I've definitely been in a company where it seemed like everyone was "interested" in everyone else. I never saw it end well. :) I can see how a person's work environment really seems like "thee place" to date though. You are with those people so much of the time and like you said you get to observe their "communication style, habits, leadership ability, and interpersonal skills" something that is hard to learn even after going on multiple dates with someone.
