Beautiful description! I went to Brazil this summer for 6 days and Rio is truly a breathtaking city. The idea that they will host the summer Olympics will be incredible. It is well deserved and will show the world that Latin America has amazing natural beauty.

Andre, wow! I am so deeply touched that my one day experience in Brazil as described here on our blog was powerful enough to make you want to move back! Thank you so much for the compliment! I can actually kind of relate too. A few weeks back I went to New York on business and brought Monique from our office as she had never been and we had a lot to do with a colleague there. While, like you, I had been born in NYC and traveled there many many times, seeing the city through Monique's eyes for the first time - her excitement, wonderment, fascination, the exhilaration...made me fall in love with my home town once again as well. Even living in LA, somehow I never seem to see it quite the same as when visitors come in to town. Funny how that works! Please do go back and visit your wonderful country again sometime soon...and be sure to write us with all the details, so we can all live vicariously through you and your journey falling in love all over again with home.

Damone, you are a sweetheart. I'm over joyed with your response and excitement. I'm definitely still pinching myself from the experience and so hope and pray that this article inspires others like you to travel and see the world at every possible opportunity. There is nothing else like it. It changes your perspective on life and people completely. Plus, it's totally addictive....like all the volunteering we do. You certainly know what that's like. It's the same kind of rush, but hard to describe. I'll keep writing and living if you all keep responding so favorably...and hopefully acting on your own opportunities or adventure...or start making them up as you go along!

Jill, don't even think. Just go. You won't regret it. Should I add you to the list of friends who now want to go next time? :)

xo

OH MY GOD!!!! I'm SPEECHLESS!!!! My heart is in my stomach right now after reading this!! I feel like you brought me in on the meaning of life or something. Extremely inspirational and life-changing! This day will be gone before I know it, but the vivid imagery and insightful details of this story will live with me forever! There is absolutely NO WAY I will feel complete and fulfilled on this planet unless I experience BRAZIL and the feeling of:"this is the last thing I want to see before I die." BEAUTIFUL POST!!!! Keep living Jen! you do it well...

Wow! I am from Brazil - more specifically, from Rio, but I've lived in New York since 2001.
After I finished reading your article, I thought: "What the heck am I doing here? I should go back to my laid back, beautiful city!"

That's how deep it touched me, as I would never (ever!) consider going back (for many reasons) - until you painted this beautiful picture of my city.

Thank you!
